Where Have All The People Gone?
Retirements, smaller populations, and having to care for aging parents are just a few reasons why we seem to have such a hard time filling open positions. The reality is, we just don’t have enough warm bodies to fill the roles. There are only a few choices a company is left with. You can close shop or you can find alternatives and now that we have advanced technologies readily available, finding alternatives to humans seems like a realistic answer.
The second of my six drivers of change as it relates to the relationship between humans and the machines we work with is our ever growing lack of labor. This article briefly discusses the issue and how organizations might begin to approach a solution, always keeping the people first.
